PARENTS ARE PARTICIPANTS
(4,5,6 basketball league / toddler basketball league)
Contrary to popular belief, parent involvement is a key to a successful youth sports program.
To enhance and speed up a youth athletes progress, parents must reinforce what is being taught during practices, lessons, and events. That reinforcement by the parent is pivotal to an athletes success.
Parents are Participants engages parents physically and mentally within the process. Parents take an active role in their child’s development. Parents hear, see, and can actually touch their own child’s progress. Each parent is paired with their own child during these activities.
Parents put down their mobile phones and take an active role in their athletes embetterment. Their engagement signifies and represents the importance to their children.
Just like the idea and purpose behind academic homework in school, parents continue the learning experience as they will discuss what has transpired at practice during the car ride home or at the dinner table versus families simply pivoting to the next conversation or topics when they depart the practice.
Parents are Participants keeps parents engaged.
Parents are Participants keeps parents off their mobile phones and tablets while their child is performing.
Parents have healthy fun. Siblings have healthy fun. Players have fun. Thus, it’s the true definition of “Family Fun”. Family fun which focuses on the improvement of their child or their player.
Please read in many other segments across many other sports, what the parents think of this format.
The program, the athletes, and the overall performance of the league/event significantly improves with full family engagement. It also, boldly, sets apart my programs from standard youth programming.
